# Dashboard | Customer List

## Learn how to manage your customer list, how to bulk update customer details and how to adjust loyalty point balances.

### Benefits of Adding Customer Profiles

The benefits of adding a customer profile to retail sales and online orders include:

- The ability to email receipts
- View past purchase history
- View total dollar amount spent in store
- View number of visits
- Loyalty points balances

There are varying regional regulations surrounding customer loyalty programs. Please refer to your provincial guidelines before using any loyalty balance features or platforms.

### Customer List

- To view your Customer List got to **Customers \> Customer List** in your BLAZE dashboard
- The **Customer List** displays all of the customer profiles created in your POS system
- From your **Customer List** you can export your entire customer database and create new customer profiles directly in the dashboard

*\*Please note: When customer profiles are created on the POS, these customer profiles will be viewable on the dashboard. Refresh your browser to see newly added customer profiles.*

To add a customer profile, click on the **Add Customer** button on the top right corner of the page.

Enter the available customer information and save the new customer profile.

You can filter the **Customer List** for a customer profile by entering the customers email, name, phone number or customer ID number into the search field and clicking the blue **Apply** button.

You can sort your **Customer List** by hovering your mouse over one of the **column headers**. Click the icon to sort the list by the data in the selected column. *\*Please note: You can only sort the customer list by one column header at a time.*

You can edit the visible columns in the **Customer List** by clicking the cog icon. Select the columns you would like to be displayed **(*blue checkmark*)** and click anywhere else on the page to exit. *\*Please note: The selected columns will revert to the default setting (all columns selected) when the page is refreshed or after leaving and reopening the Customer List page.*

To export your entire **Customer List**, click the **Import/Export** button. You can then filter and sort your **Customer List** from within your preferred software application such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

### Bulk Updating the Customer List

You have the option to export your entire **Customer List**, make changes to your customer profiles, and then upload the **Customer List** file back into your dashboard as long as your **employee security role** permits you to do so.

You also have the option to import customer data you may have been managing outside of your POS. This file **must** be a **.csv or .xlsx** file. The **Name** field is the only required field. This is also dependent on your security role.

If your security role does not permit you to import or export a **Customer List**, you will be notified by the following error message. *\*Please contact your dashboard admin to have them grant you access to importing a customer list file.  BLAZE support **cannot** change employee security roles or grant access to restricted areas of the dashboard.*

By clicking the **Import/Export button** you will be prompted with a pop-up box which has a tab for **Customers** and one for **Loyalty Balance**. Choose **Customers** to either import a **Customer List** file or export your current **Customer List.**

Export your **Customer List**, edit the appropriatecolumns, and re import your **Customer List** file. 

The following columns in the **Customer List** export file **can be edited:**

- Name (Customers First and last name in one cell)
- Card ID (A membership card or other identifying ID number)
- Phone
- Email
- Address (Standard address format)
- Birthday
- Gender
- Is Tax Exempt (When **Is Tax Exempt** is **No** the customer profile is ***not*** tax exempt)
- Loyalty Tier (A **Greenline Loyalty** tier assigned to the customer profile)
- Notes (Can be anything related to the customer or their profile)

*\*Please note: You may receive an error message when importing your **Customer List** file. Errors may be triggered by a duplicate email address or if a date has not been formatted correctly **(yyyy-mm-dd).***

*Simply edit your **Customer List** file and import it again.*

It is **not** **possible** to delete customer profiles in bulk. 

Customer profiles **must** be deleted manually.

To delete a customer profile, scroll to the right-most side of the **Customer List** page. Click the **3 dots** next to the customer profile you wish to delete. Click **delete**. *\*Please note: Deleting a customer profile **cannot** be undone.* 

### Bulk Updating Loyalty Balances

The second tab on the **Import/Export** popup is **Loyalty Balance**. This is an easy way to bulk update your customers **Loyalty Balances**.

Simply export your **Customer List**, edit the **Loyalty Balance** column as desired, and re import your **Customer List** file. 

Loyalty point balances in the uploaded **Customer List** file will **replace** any existing customer **Loyalty Balances**.

*\*Please note: As with the bulk customer update above, the correct security permissions must be applied to the user who is utilizing this tool.*
