Getting Started | Setting up your BLAZE account

Welcome to BLAZE POS. We wrote this article to be your best starting point to get your store up and running!

Step 1

Before you receive your live account details, sign up here for free online training on our BLAZE University. It will help you get accustomed to the system's core workflows and avoid first-time mistakes. As an Owner or Manager, once you have completed your training our customer success team will provide you with live login credentials (make sure you change your password after your first successful login). For any employees completing BLAZE University, you will want to reach out to a manager to get the appropriate access.

For any issues, please contact the Blaze Support Team using the chat function on your Dashboard.

Step 2

Log into your dashboard and go through your company settings in the Company > Settings tab. Make sure that you understand each option and select the right ones for your business.

Step 3

Your store will have multiple employees logging into the BLAZE dashboard to perform various duties. As the store manager, it's important to think about their user accounts and permission levels before live operations.

Configure your security roles and permissions in the Employees > Security roles tab.

Add employees in the Employees > Employee list tab.

You can learn more about BLAZE's employee and security role settings here.

Step 4

Before you can start adding products, it's important to set up the following:

Double-check your taxes in the Settings > Taxes tab. Tax groups are automatically created for you upon company creation, but it's important to double-check that they fit your needs for your area.

Add categories in the Products > Categories tab. All regulated products must be attached to a regulator-approved compliance category.

Add vendors and brands in the Products > Brands & Vendors tab. Some examples of vendors and brands can be regulators, regional distributors, regulated product brands or unregulated product brands, etc. Note: when you add products, we recommend adding the vendor and brand at the same time for brand-based reporting.

Your BLAZE account is now fully set up and ready for use!
