# Legal Limits on Product Purchase Notification

##### This article will explain the notification that customer will receive when their legal limit has already been met.

 

The legal limit amounts for cannabis purchases must be configured in the **Point of Sale**. Legal limits vary depending on the state you are operating in. Please consult your state's cannabis laws and regulations.

1. Once legal limit amounts have been configured in the **Point of Sale**, a customer will not be able to complete their purchase if the order exceeds the legal daily limit. 
2. After clicking **Place Order**, the customer will receive an error message notifying them that the State Cannabis Limit has been reached.
