All product information originates in the point of sale system, however, you can use the information in the Tymber Product Catalogue to override the information that is set in the POS.
Why would you want to do that? If you have a product on the menu and you don't have an image or a description, the Tymber Product Catalogue can be used to complete the listing.
Log in to Tymber Mission Control at admin.tymber.io and click on the products tab on the left side panel.
Next, select the product you want to override. You can use the search tool to help you locate the product.
You will find that all of the product information stays the same in the POS, even if you use the Tymber Product Catalogue to override the image and description for display on the web. You can go back to your default POS product image and description at any time by disconnecting the product from the product catalogue.
Click the connect button in the upper right to connect to a different data source (Tymber Catalogue). Find the product that you want to override in the list and click the lightning bolt button to connect that product.
Once you have connected the product from the Tymber Product Catalogue you will see the information change on the menu.
Reminder: The product will remain unaltered in the POS system. The price and the URL for the product will not change.
There are several areas of the panel that indicates when the product has been connected to the alternate data source.
It's easy to keep track of the products that have been connected to an alternate data source by clicking into the products tab and looking at the catalog column.
Note: that there is also a large disconnect button available in the upper right of each product window. It can reverse the update and take you back to the original data source.
It takes about 5 minutes for a product to revert back to its original state after the alternate data source has been disconnected.
If you have a product that you'd like to suggest be added to the Tymber product catalogue or see a product that needs to be edited, there are two ways you can reach out to our product catalogue team.
Visit tymber.io/library and complete the form or email brands@tymber.io
This will create a special support ticket where you will tell us what's wrong with that product or suggest a new product that we don't have in the Tymber Product Catalogue.
