This article will teach you how to apply your SEO Keyphrase plan to your website and optimize it yourself so you can rank on Google search results.

SEO Set up customers can refer to their SEO Keyphrase Plan built exclusively for their site by our digital strategists. For every core page included in the site design set up, we've included a focus keyword that will allow each page to rank on Google search engines.

Once you've identified the keyword for each page you plan to optimize follow the steps below to begin editing.

Once logged into your Duda site, click on the "Settings" icon on the left sidebar. First, optimize the SEO for your site. Use the keyword designated for the home page for this part. Complete site title with the home page keyword, consisting of 60 characters, like this: Cannabis Ecommerce | Tymber Cannabis Delivery. Next, complete the site description in full sentences. Ensure that it is approximately 300 characters and includes the keyword.

*Do not edit the Site or Page URL. The URL is already set when Tymber creates a page and publishes it. Changing this would result in a broken page or redirect link.

Then enter the focus keyword in the site keyword section. You only need to include the one provided for that page.

Once you complete this set up, then you can edit the SEO on the individual core pages using the keywords assigned to each page. Find the pages in the left sidebar and select "settings" and "SEO"

Complete the fields for Page Title, Page Description, and Page Keyword in exactly the same way as the previous instructions. Page Title should incorporate the keyword and include the dispensary name with a separator in between.

Ex: Cannabis Ecommerce Blog | Tymber .

Then, edit the Page Description with a 300 character description (including the keyword). Finally, write in the page's focus keyword in the Page Keyword section.

Now that the backend of the page is optimized, it's time to ensure that your front end content and the featured image, are optimized.

Upload your image by selecting the "+" on the sidebar and select the image widget. When the image is added where you want it on the page, click to edit. Scroll down until you reach the section where you will place the Alt Text, Tooltip, and Caption.

Complete the Alt Text with the focus keyword from the keyphrase plan. Adding Alternative Text that matches the focus keyword, will add a tag that will help search engines recognize image content. Additionally, it will improve ADA accessibility as well. Only set the Alt Text keyword on the featured/hero image on the page. Other images should have relevant Alt Text descriptions.

The Tooltip is another area you can complete, and it will appear on the image when you hover over it. You can write a brief description of the image or include the page keyword in this section as well. Finally, complete the Caption with a brief description of the image as this will allow ADA page readers to read the image description.

Now that the backend of your site is optimized, here are 5 tips to ensure that your on-page SEO on the front-facing side of the site is also done correctly:

Page Content Best Practices
Here are 5 rules to live by when writing your front end content on any given core page or landing page;
  1. Always use an H1 tag on your header which will include your keyword. Only include ONE H1 tag. Ex. Edible Delivery (keyword) → Edible Delivery in Sacramento. You can format other header sections throughout the page, but only designate one as an H1.
  2. You can upload multiple pictures on your page, however only use the Keyword for the Alt Text on the featured or hero image. This is considered your primary image. Other images can have other relevant descriptive alt tags.
  3. When writing the content on your page, try to have at least 300-500 words.
  4. Include the keyword 3-4 times for 500 words of copy and at least 1 time in a subheading (in addition to the H1 heading).
  5. Make sure the keyword is incorporated as naturally into the body sentences as possible. This means only including it once per section if your page has multiple sections. Just as you don't want to underutilize the keyword, you also don't want to overutilize the keyword either.
