A quick video to show you how to update slider images on a hero slider section.
1. First, ensure that you are logged in to your Wordpress editor on your website. Once logged in, you will see the Word Press Dashboard.
2. From the dashboard, view the left sidebar and select "pages". Click "all pages".
a. Now, you'll see the list of all your website's pages, and you'll be able to select and view the pages already published or preview the pages that are still saved as drafts. Go to your Home Page. It will say "Home--Front Page, Divi". *Divi is the layout builder that Tymber uses to edit all their partner's websites.
b. Hover over the homepage and select, "view page"
3. Now, you can view the page and you'll see the multiple Hero Images scrolling past on the homepage. To edit these images, Click "Enable Visual Builder".
4. If you don't have an hero sider on your website and would like to create one, hover over the bottom of a section until a blue plus sign appears and says "add new section". Click on the purple box on the far right that says, "full width". then in the menu shown below, click "Fullwidth slider".
4A. If your webpage already has a slider set up, all you need to do to edit and change the photos within is hover over the hero section until a gray gear box that says 'module settings' pops up. When you see that gear box, click on the gear icon to edit this section.
5. Now, you'll see the list of all the images and text in the Hero section. Click on the gear icon of the section you would like to edit, or go down to the "Add New Slide" button to add another section.
6. From here, you'll see all the title and button text fields to edit or add text to. Scroll down to "background" and click the section to expand. You'll see a few different buttons to edit the gradient or image. Make sure the image button is selected and again click the gear icon.
6A. Here, you'll be able to edit the text over the image, as well as the button text and link. Scroll down to background, and from here you can change your images.
7. Now, you can either select an image that has already been uploaded and is in your media library, or you can upload a new image. To upload, go into the upload tab and select "select files".
8. Once the file is uploaded, you will now edit the Alt Text and Description. The Alt Text helps to serve as both the name of the image and a searchable key term. Best practices when naming an image is to name it a searchable key term so that it can add to the page indexing.
Additionally, the description also helps to make the website ADA accessible, so make sure to write a short image description when uploading the image as well.
9. Finally, you'll click "upload image" on the bottom right corner. When the module editor comes back up, make sure to hit the green check mark. Click "save" on the very bottom right corner of the page, and the new image will then be updated on the hero slider.
