A new cash drawer is created at the start of each day an employee works. Only one cash drawer can be opened a day, per active terminal. Either a manager or an employee can close a cash drawer, depending upon the settings set in Global Settings (see Roles/Permissions in Company Settings). The Cash Drawer section can be found by using the dashboard on the left in the BLAZE retail app, in the Point of Sale, under Transactions.
Details of a specific cash drawer can be seen when clicking on the cash drawer of interest (see arrow).
Cash Drawer activity can also be monitored using the Cash Drawer schedule found in the BLAZE Web App. This allows the user to see the time and date the drawer was opened, the employee who opened it, and the starting amount reported in the cash drawer, as well as all transactions and refunds that happened on that specific cash drawer.
The Cash Drawer can be found after "pinning" into the BLAZE retail app. It is the middle icon on the left of the screen (drawer with money). Depending upon the settings in Global Settings, a new cash drawer can automatically start at the beginning of each day, or the cash drawer can be opened manually by the user granted with that permission. Also, the starting cash drawer amount can be set at a specific amount each time it is opened, or it can be manually set each day, again by the user granted with that permission.
The Cash Drop and Paid In/Out feature is located to the right of the cash drawer details.
Cash Drawer Settings:
Blaze offers various cash drawer settings to customize control over the cash drawer system.
The settings for cash drawer are located in "Shop Information" under "Current Shop Settings" as seen below.
Available cash drawer settings under Shop Information:
Cash Drawer: Enabled/Disabled: When enabled, a manager pin will be required anytime a cash drawer is opened
Enable Auto Cash Drawers: Enabled/Disabled: When Enabled, any open cash drawer will automatically carry over to the next day with the expected cash amount from the previous session.
Enable Cash Drawers for Sales: Enabled/Disabled: A commonly enabled setting that, when enabled, forces a cash drawer to be open before an order can be completed.
