With BLAZE SMS Marketing, your messages are sent from a long-code number (xxx-xxx-xxxx). Because it's sent from a regular looking number, and not a distinct short-code number (xxxxx or xxxxxx), there are specific marketing rules you need to abide by to ensure your messages are not flagged as spam. One of those rules is that the message in the SMS blasts needs to be conversational. It cannot look like an explicit marketing message. This article will show you a few examples of conversational marketing messages, as well as examples of explicit marketing messages (to avoid).
- NOTE: This list is by no means exhaustive. If you are unsure of your message, send it to support@blaze.me for us to review.
Conversational Marketing
Here are a few examples of conversational marketing; Marketing that reads more like a conversation than a direct ad.
- Hey {{member_firstname}}! Staying in? We'll deliver! Deals on flower & carts all this week!
- Happy Friday! We're delivering to ___. Menu: {{shop_website}} to get you ready for the weekend! Call / text ___ for delivery.
- Stay inside & healthy, we’ll come to you! Menu: {{shop_website}}. We're delivering to ___. Call / text ____ for delivery.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in your shop being flagged / blocked by our 3rd party messenger, Twilio, and prevent your SMS blast from being delivered.
- If you believe your SMS messages have been flagged / blocked, please contact support@blaze.me to "reset" your number.
- Until our Support Team has confirmed that your number has been reset, please refrain from sending more messages, as it is highly likely they will NOT be delivered by our 3rd party messenger, Twilio.
- BLAZE will not reimburse for any flagged / not delivered messages due to invalid phone numbers or failure to follow our SMS guidelines.
