Retail | Cash Drawer Quick Start

The Quick Start feature for the Cash Drawer is designed to eliminate friction at the beginning of shifts. By pre-configuring starting drawer amounts globally or per terminal, budtenders and staff can open their cash drawers with a single tap and begin sales immediately.

Prerequisites

  • POS app version 26.08.9 or higher

How to Set Up

The Quick Start feature can be configured globally for the entire shop or customized per individual terminal.

  1. Navigate to BLAZE Retail > Global Settings > Current Shop Settings > Terminals.
  2. Enable the Quick Start setting toggle.
  3. Set your preferred starting drawer amount:
    • Apply to all: Choose this option if all cash drawers start with the same dollar amount each shift.
    • Set per terminal: Choose this option if starting drawer amounts vary depending on the terminal location or function.

How to Use

  1. Navigate to the Cash Drawer section using either of these paths:
    • POS > Cash Drawer (header) > Start Drawer
    • POS > Cash Drawer (side navigation) > Start Drawer
  2. Tap the Quick Start button to open your drawer with the pre-set amount.

TIP: Using Quick Start bypasses manual bill counting input during shift setup, saving valuable time during opening procedures.

Q: I would like to change the quick start amount for just one or a few terminals. How can I make that happen?

A: To change the quick start amount for a specific terminal, navigate to BLAZE Retail > Global Settings > Current Shop Settings > Terminals. Locate the target terminal in the list, click Edit, and update the dollar value in the Quick Start column.

Q: How do I turn this feature off if I want to remove the option?

A: Navigate to BLAZE Retail > Global Settings > Current Shop Settings > Terminals and locate the Quick Start setting toggle. Switch the toggle to Off to remove the Quick Start button across all terminals.
