Retail | Product Catalog: Per-Location Overrides
Sometimes a single store genuinely differs from the rest of your operation, requiring a distinct price, its own SKU, or a product status that is inactive at just that specific storefront. Overrides allow an individual location to diverge on specific fields while all other attributes continue to inherit directly from the company-level product.
Prerequisites
- Access to the BLAZE Web Portal.
- Appropriate permissions to view and edit the company Products catalog.
How to View Per-Location Details
To see how a product is currently configured across your different storefronts, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Products section in the main menu.
- Click the expander icon on the desired product row.
- Review the Per-location detail panel, which lists every assigned shop along with its SKU, retail price, stock, and status.
NOTE: Any fields that differ from the company value will display a visual override badge.

How to Edit Values for a Single Location
- From the Per-location detail panel, click on the specific location you want to modify. The location sheet will open, titled with the shop's name and displaying badges indicating its status and total number of active overrides (e.g., "2 Overrides").
- Click the Edit button.
- Update any of the fields that need to diverge for this specific shop based on the supported categories below:
| Section | Fields You Can Override |
| Basic Info | Name, SKU (Note: Category and Brand always follow the company product) |
| Pricing & Stock | Retail Price, Cost (Note: Stock is read-only as it reflects the shop's actual live inventory) |
| Status | Active, Available Online |
| Tags | The shop's own specific tag set |
| Description | A shop-specific, customer-facing description |
4. Click Save. A confirmation message will appear: "Saved overrides for [Shop Name]".
TIP: For quick reference, the inherited company value is displayed directly beneath each overridden field as: "Company default: [Value]".
Managing Overrides for Multiple Locations At Once
If you need to configure adjustments across several stores simultaneously, you can manage them centrally without opening individual location sheets:
- Open the main company product profile.
- Select the Overrides tab.
- From this screen, you can specify individual location values for any fields that need to diverge from the standard profile. Every field not adjusted here will default to the company-product value.
How Overrides Behave
- Field Isolation: Once a field is overridden, it retains its unique local value. Future edits made at the company level to that specific field will no longer sync to this location.
- Continuous Inheritance: Every other unchanged field at the location continues to inherit updates normally, including future company-level edits.
- Reverting to Default: To restore inheritance, clear the override so that it matches the company default again.
Navigating to the Shop's Full Record
From the location sheet, you can click View full product to jump directly to that storefront's complete inventory record. This is where localized stock management, batch tracking, and shop-only configurations are maintained.
