Retail | Product Catalog: Product Pricing Options
A company product can be priced in three different ways within BLAZE. All pricing options are managed in the Pricing section of the product form and follow standard location inheritance rules across your dispensaries or stores.
Prerequisites
- Access to the BLAZE Web Portal.
- Permissions to manage company Products and catalog pricing settings.
Overview of Product Pricing Options
When creating or editing a product, you can select one of three pricing structures depending on how the item is sold.
Option 1 — Flat Retail Price: Enter a standard Retail Price. You can also enter the Wholesale Cost (which automatically populates from Purchase Orders when available). The system will automatically calculate and display your Margin and Markup.
Option 2 — Pricing Template: Select a pre-configured template using the Pricing template selector (the default setting is "Use retail price"). Applying a template enforces a reusable, tiered pricing scheme across your catalog.
NOTE: Applying a pricing template overrides any value entered in the standard Retail Price field. You can create and manage these in the Pricing Templates section.
Option 3 — Weight Pricing (Deli-Style Products): Products assigned to a category designated as "Deli style (Grams)" will display the Weight Pricing editor instead of a single flat price field.
- Set specific price tiers based on weight (e.g., 1g, 3.5g, 7g, 28g).
- Selecting a pricing template populates these fields automatically, but values can still be edited manually.
- A weight tier is active only when its price is set above $0.00.
- Click Add price range to include additional custom weights.
WARNING: Weight tiers are pulled directly from your organization's weight tolerance settings. If you see the message "No enabled weight tolerances. Add one in Company Settings → Weight Tolerances", you must enable your required weight tiers there before configuring deli pricing.

How Per-Location Pricing & Inheritance Work
Any individual store can set its own pricing structure without impacting the rest of the chain:
- Location Overrides: Open the specific store from the product's Per-location detail panel and update the Retail Price or weight-pricing tiers.
- Preserved Store Prices: When company-level prices are updated, any intentional store-level override is preserved. Company updates will only affect locations that inherit standard pricing.
- Price Resolution Order: To determine the effective price charged at a specific store, the system resolves pricing in the following order:
| Priority | Pricing Source | Description |
| 1st (Highest) | Location Override | Applied if the individual store has a custom price or weight tier set. |
| 2nd | Pricing Template | Applied if no store override exists and a company-level template is active. |
| 3rd (Default) | Retail Price / Weight Tier | Applied if no override or template exists (uses the standard company retail price or deli weight tier). |
