What is a split menu?
A split menu provides customers with the option to swap between recreational (adult use) and medical orders. They will see a selector on the top right of the menu.
Once a customer clicks on it, they will be given the option to choose between the menu options.
Recreational menu
By default, customers will see the recreational menu. This will always be shown first before they login to their account, and it will be the first option they see after signing up.
Recreational orders will be associated with the state's standard adult use limits and the adult use taxes you have set in the POS.
Lastly, the customer will appear in the POS as an adult use member after placing an order from this menu.
Medical menu
Online customers can switch to medical status by utilizing the medical menu. This also means there are a couple of verification steps for a customer to use the medical menu.
First, they must be logged in to an active account. If they select the medical menu before logging in, they will be directed to the login page and see an error message.
Once a user is logged in, they can switch to the medical menu and see the expanded limits and reduced taxes.
Before a medical customer can proceed to checkout, they are prompted to provide their medical information. This can include a picture and/or their recommendation number and expiration date. You can set this up via Mission Control Settings > Store Configuration
Lastly, customers will become medical users after ordering from the medical menu.
The customer preferences will be saved. This ensures customers return to the same menu they previously ordered from when they login to shop again.
