ECOM | Preexisting Customer Sign Up Guide

This article will explain what happens when customers that have an existing ECOM account linked to your POS attempt to sign up with the same email or phone number through the e-commerce menu.

  • Upon launching the your e-commerce menu, all customers will need to Sign Up for an Account to complete a purchase through the menu.
  • New customers will also be required to Sign Up for an Account the first time they complete a purchase through the menu.
  • Customer profiles will be automatically linked in the POS via their original phone number.
  • If a customer already has an existing ECOM profile linked to your POS, and another user attempts to sign up with the same email and phone number, they will experience the following:

Email and Phone Number Duplicate

  • If a customer already has an existing profile in your POS, and attempts to sign up with the same phone number and different email, they will able able to complete the sign up process.
  • If a customer already has an existing profile in your POS and attempts to sign up with the same email and different phone number.
    • They will receive an "Email has already been taken" error upon clicking Sign Up.
