Insights (Advanced) | Expected v.s. Actual

This dashboard provides a comparative analysis of your expected revenue versus your actual sales revenue. By tracking the variance between standard retail prices (expected) and the final transaction amounts (actual), you can effectively monitor how discounts, promotions, and price overrides are impacting your profit margins and overall bottom line.

Insights > Dashboard > Marketing > Expected v.s. Actual

Filtering Report Data

You can easily customize the data displayed on your dashboard to fit your specific needs. Use the following filter controls to narrow down your view.

  • Controls:

    • Shop(s): Select the specific location(s) you want to view.

    • Transaction Date: Filter the report to display data for sales completed on a specific date or within a defined date range.


Available Reports & Charts

  •  Discounts by Type:

    • This chart breaks down the total volume and value of discounts given during your selected time frame, categorized by the specific type of discount applied (e.g., promotional campaigns, loyalty rewards, manual manager overrides). Use this to identify which discount strategies are utilized most frequently.

  • Product Sale Price Analysis - Expected vs Actual:

    •  This report details the variance between the standard retail price (expected) and the final price paid by the customer (actual) on a per-product basis. This helps you pinpoint specific inventory items or product categories where your profit margins are experiencing the greatest impact from pricing adjustments.

💡 Pro Tip: You can export this or any KPI held in Insights to a CSV or Excel file. Simply click the More Options (three-dot icon) in the upper right-hand corner of the metric.
