Grow | Creating a package from a Harvest

Bulk weight packages are the first packages that must be created from a harvest.

This bulk packages can then be further repackaged into finished goods such as prerolls are jarred flower. 

Packages can be created from a Harvest that is in the stages of "Harvest," "Unprocessed Inventory," or "Processing"

Prerequisites

Prior to creating any packages from a harvest you must have:

  • Created Products for these packages within BLAZE (i.e. Bulk Flower - TrueOG and Bulk Trim - TrueOG)
  • Created a correlating Metrc Item that is linked to this BLAZE Product
  • A Room created that you will place your created packages into
  • Available Metrc Package Tags 

Harvest Package Creation Overview

Create Packages Prior to Drying (fresh frozen and fresh plant)

If you are selling a fresh plant product that does not need to go through the drying phase, you can create packages directly from your completed harvest. 

1. Choose Create Packages from the three dots menu on the harvest tile 

2. Choose the container (such as the tote) that contains the harvest, click Next. 

3. Confirm the Weight type that you are working with (grams, ounces, pounds).

4. Click Add Record

5. Fill in or select the required fields for the first package

  • Product: The product you will be creating a package for. 
  • Weight: The weight for this package you will create. 
  • Waste Type: If recording waste at this stage, select the applicable waste type. 
  • Waste: The weight of waste you would like to record, if none, enter 0 here. 
  • Room: The location into which you will place your newly created packages (i.e. Inventory Room)
  • Metrc Tag (for Metrc states): The next available Metrc Package tag that you would like to assign to this package.

6. If you would like to create additional packages, click Add Record to add on additional packages.

7. Once complete, click Next 

8. Confirm the entered data then click Save. BLAZE will begin the package creation process and for Metrc states will also communicate with Metrc to create your Metrc package. This step could take a few moments depending on the performance of Metrc, so please be patient. 

9. Now that your package is created, you will see the harvest weight has been adjusted accordingly and you can now go the to "Sales" interface under Inventory-->Packages to view and further manage your harvest. 

Create Packages from Unprocessed Inventory or Processing

After creating a harvest and drying it, the next stages will be Unprocessed Inventory and Processing.

You can create a package from either Unprocessed Inventory or Processing stages. 

Processing is an additional stage that allows you to move your harvest to a new location (such as a room named Processing) and also see on the Grow Board which harvests are currently being processed.  

1. Choose Create Packages from the three dots menu on the harvest tile (in either Processing or Unprocessed Inventory) 

2. Choose the container (such as the tote) that contains the harvest, click Next. 

3. Confirm the Weight type that you are working with (grams, ounces, pounds).

4. Click Add Record

  • Product: The product you will be creating a package for. 
  • Weight: The weight for this package you will create.
