Q: Is the data in real-time?

A: The Insights Platform is meant for you to take a quick look in a visual format. As such, most of the reports on the platform will update on a 15-minute basis. There are several reports with extremely dense datasets which update on a 12-hour basis. The best way to access and export real-time unformatted data is in the Retail Platform itself and the Reports export section.


Q: Why do I see some minor discrepancies with the old reports?

A: The new Insights platform uses a new dedicated analytics database separate from the old reporting engine. It is expected that there will be some rounding loss when all the numbers are flattened out and then re-aggregated. This also takes place when new reports are constituted from line-level data to allow for more accuracy than from transactional-level data. These should effectively amount to negligible discrepancies of not more than a few pennies in most cases.


Q: Will BLAZE Insights replace Dashboard and Dashboard (BETA)?

A: Dashboard and Dashboard (BETA) will slowly be phased out as more advanced tiers of Insights become available. The data on the old Dashboards are visualized in Blaze Insights. For real-time data, it is recommended to look directly in the Retail console.


Q: Can I create my own custom dashboard and/or reports?

A: With Insights Advanced, you will get the ability to reorganize existing reports into your own personal dashboard. With Insights Enhanced, the next paid tier up, you will get the additional ability to create your own reports using existing data in Blaze.


Q: Am I able to look at large timeframes in BLAZE Insights?

A: Blaze Insights provides visualizations for operators who will use it primarily on a weekly to monthly basis. Although you can set larger custom timeframes in BLAZE Insights for analysis, depending on the size of the data, it may require you to receive the data as an email export or take much longer to load. For larger timeframes over a quarter, it is recommended that you use the Reports section in Retail to export a csv of the raw data.


Q: Why can't I see all of the shops in Insights?  I am an admin.
A: You must have the Assigned Shops enabled in your employee profile.  Even if you are an admin.  To enable this refer to the Employee Shop Access section of the Insights Standard Overview support Article.  It will take about 10 minutes for these changes to take effect.  You will need to log out and log back into Insights.


Q: Why can't I see all of the reports in Insights?

A:  You might have less permission than you need.  Refer to the Roles and Permissions section of the Insights Standard Overview Support Article.  It will take about 10 minutes for these changes to take effect.  You will need to log out and log back into Insights.


Q: Why can't I get into Insights?  Why does it say I don't have access?

A:  First, check your Roles and Permissions and make sure you have access to the Dashboards.  You can find these Web permissions in Global Settings > Company Settings > Roles and Permissions.  Find your role and select the Web, then scroll down to the Insights section and make sure you have one of the permissions enabled.

Second, If you do have permission and it is still giving you a message about not having access, follow the following steps.

  1. Global Settings
  2. Data Export
  3. Sync Insights Permissions
  5. Wait about 30 seconds and it will start a time elapsed sync.  
  6. If you still cannot access Insights reach out to support.
