How to manage compliance with your in-app categories
This article discusses best practices for getting mobile app categories approved in the app stores. Each time Blaze submits a new version of your mobile app, there is a personal human review of the app. In our experience, the app store reviewers have refused approval of the new mobile app version due to a few details regarding categories and products in the mobile app.
Blaze has created a new feature to allow you to manage your categories in the mobile app specifically. This helps to navigate the mobile app approval process and get all of your categories displaying in your mobile app.
Here are the top 3 categories that have been a point of concern for the mobile app reviewers in the app stores. Using Blaze' new feature, you can customize the category display name specifically for the mobile app. You can also show or hide the category in the mobile app.
Vapes
The app store reviewers seem to be extremely concerned with 'vapes', not because of anything cannabis related. Rather, the reviewers are concerned with 'vaping safety' as noted in their responses when submitting mobile apps for review. We recommend renaming this category to 'Carts'. Even the term 'Cartridges' has been the cause of rejection from the app store reviewers.
Accessories
Certain accessories have triggered rejections in the app store review process. It also seems to be a concern aimed at vaping hardware in these categories. We recommend renaming this category to something else like 'Extras' or hiding the category all together to avoid the possibility of rejection during review.
Infused Prerolls
We're not quite sure why there have been rejections for the infused preroll category. Hiding this category or renaming it in the mobile app is highly recommended. Other names we recommend are 'rolled joints' or just 'prerolls'.
