Create QR codes to put on your marketing materials and attach a quick link to download your app
QR codes are a great tool to bring attention to your app. Once generated, you can scan one with a mobile device camera and it will bring you to the URL linked to the QR code.
Step 1:
Choose a QR Code that is right for you.
There are two types of QR codes to choose from which are both easily available to create. We have broken them down below:
1. Static QR Codes: QR codes that cannot be edited after created designed for a campaign to one specific link.
Advantages: Cheaper, can get a lot of clicks without subscribing to QR code service.
Disadvantages: Links cannot be edited, take longer to scan, do not offer QR scan tracking, cannot be used for retargeting.
2. Dynamic QR Codes: QR codes designed to interact with multiple links and offer feedback to user and customers.
Advantages: Link can be edited after production, offer QR scan tracking/analysis, can retarget users online, quicker to scan, can deliver different campaigns based on a preset schedule.
Disadvantages: More expensive.
We recommend Dynamic QR codes as they allow you to see analytics on QR scan activity. However this will likely be something you pay a small monthly fee for.
Step 2:
Select a QR Code provider. There are several options available to search online. We will attach a few below:
1. One Link
- This is our recommendation as it allows you to deep link two URLs into one. In other words, you can combine links to the IOS App Store and Google Play Store into one link.
2. URL Genius
- This is another avenue to deep link two URLs into one. You can also combine links to the IOS App Store and Google Play Store into one link.
3. App Store Marketing Website (IOS ONLY)
- Apple has a free tool for downloading and customizing a QR code.
Step 3:
Attach your QR code to marketing campaigns and handouts. Check out our guide on using QR codes with handouts like flyers and stickers.
