The experience of BLAZE running slowly is often not the result of the BLAZE cloud performance, but can frequently be the result of poor network performance or issues with third-party integrations.
Network Performance
The first thing to check is the stability of your network. There can be many causes for network issues such as problems with your Internet provider, WIFI signal problems, and interference. The tests below will allow you to quickly determine if any of these are problems on the network that require further investigation.
There are two different tests worth performing from the same machine or device that is having issues. The first is a speed test, the second is a latency and loss test.
Speed Test
The speed test will check how quickly your connection can download and upload information. We recommend that you have a minimum of 10Mbps download and 2Mbps upload.
Latency and Loss Test
This test will check how long a request takes to travel from your computer to a server and back. It will also look for any lost data. Run this test for about 30-60 seconds.
You should see:
- Fails of 0: Anything above 0 means your network is not stable
- Avg of under 100 ms: Anything greater means you will see slower responses
- Max no more than 70 ms more than the Avg (i.e. if avg is 100, this should be no more than 170): If this is greater it also means the network is either unstable or overloaded.
Third-Party Integrations
BLAZE integrates with many third-party providers and sometimes connections to those can slow transactions. One of the integrations utilized in many states we service is Metrc.
