Retail | How is Custom Weight Pricing Calculated?

The BLAZE Retail support team has received a few questions from our customers on how custom weight prices are calculated. Naturally, we want to inform everyone!

What is a custom weight?

Custom weights are specific to the Flower category. They are considered "custom" because they fall outside the traditional weights of 1 gram, 1/8th, 1/4th, 1/2th, and 1oz. A custom weight could be anywhere between the traditional weights.

Here is an Example

For example, a custom weight could be 3 grams, 5 grams or 10 grams. Using the three custom weights above, we will show you how we get the price for these.

We take the unit price of the previous closet default value, then multiply that unit price by the custom amount.

So in the case of 3 grams, since 3 grams isn't yet a 1/8th, we take the 1 gram unit price (let's say its a $15 gram, $45 1/8th, $80 1/4, $150 1/2 and $290 1 oz) and multiply it by $15.

$15 unit price * 3 grams = $45

For 5 grams, we will use the unit price of 1/8th. To find the unit price of a 1/8th, we divide $45 by 3.54369 to get a unit price of $12.70. We then multiply the $12.70 unit price by the custom 5-gram weight to get $63.49.

$45/3.54369 * 5 grams = $63.49

Finally, for 10 grams, we use the unit price of the 1/4th. To find the unit price of a 1/4th, we divide $80 by 7.087381 to get a unit price of $11.30. We then multiply $11.29 unit price by the custom 10-gram weight to get $112.88.

$80/7.087381 * 10 grams= $112.88

Here are the numbers we use to calculate the unit price:

1 gram = 1 gram

1/8th = 3.54369 grams

1/4th = 7.087381 grams

1/2th = 14.17476 grams

1 Oz = 28.34952 grams
