Labels are printing incorrectly / Won't print more than one label
Each of the following underlined steps can be attempted sequentially to correct the issue:
Recalibrate your Zebra printer
1. Press the power button and wait for the solid green status indicator light.
2. Hold the pause and cancel buttons down for 2 seconds and let go. The printer will measure and feed a few blank labels.
3. Once the printer stops and the status indicator light is solid green, the calibration is complete.
- NOTE: An initial calibration is necessary when the new roll is a different label size. You do not need to calibrate after inserting a new roll of the same label size. The printer will automatically adjust or you can press the feed button twice before printing.
Make sure the label size is set correctly in BLAZE and Zebra Setup
1. For BLAZE, after you've logged in, click Inventory -> Print Labels on the sidebar. There, you can set/confirm the label size matches the size labels you are printing out.
2. For Zebra Setup, open the Zebra Utility App by clicking the Windows button, then searching for 'Zebra Setup Utilities.' Once there, click Configure Printer Settings.
Set your width and height to the appropriate label size, keeping the rest of the configuration settings to their defaults.
4. After this is set, re-generate the labels and attempt the print job(s).
------
Reconnect the QZ
1. In the lower-right-hand corner of your Windows desktop, open the icon tray, right-click on the green box and select ‘reload.’
2. Then re-generate your labels in BLAZE and attempt the print job.
Is the 'QZ tray' icon red after its been reloaded? If so:
1. Unplug the printer from your computer
2. Power it off (unplug it from the power source/outlet)
3. Power it back on and plug it back into your computer.
4. Re-try the print job
Make sure there’s only one Zebra printer installed
1. Click the windows icon in the lower-left and select 'Devices.'
2. Ensure there is only one of the Zebra printers installed (the current version is named Designer ZD410-203dpi ZPL).
3. If there are others, delete them. After this is set, re-generate the labels and attempt the print job.
Rename the Zebra printer
1. Click the windows icon in the lower-left and select Devices. - or search for Printers & Scanners. Select the Zebra Printer (right-click) and click 'Manage.'
2. Select printer properties and rename printer ZDesigner
3. Re-generate labels and attempt the print job.
Reinstall the Zebra Printer
1. Open the Zebra Setup Utilities app. When prompted, plug in, turn on, and connect your Zebra ZD410 printer. Your computer might ding when it is connected.
2. It will take you through the printer configure settings process - set your label size, and keep the rest of the settings at their defaults/enabled.
- NOTE: At this point in the process DO NOT click manual install. If your printer was plugged in and turned on before opening the Zebra Setup Utilities app, you will need to turn off and unplug your printer and close the Zebra Utilities app. Follow step 1.
3. For the printer to recognize the size of your labels, perform an initial calibration:
- Press the power button and wait for the solid green status indicator light.
- Hold the pause and cancel buttons down for 2 seconds and let go. The printer will measure and feed a few blank labels.
- Once the printer stops and the status indicator light is solid green, the calibration is complete.
- NOTE: An initial calibration is necessary when the new roll is a different label size. You do not need to calibrate after inserting a new roll of the same label size. The printer will automatically adjust or you can press the feed button twice before printing.
4. Optional: To verify your printer is operating, print your Configuration reports:
- Hold the feed and cancel buttons down for 2 seconds and let go. Your Configuration reports will print.
- Now that the printer is reinstalled, re-generate the labels and attempt the print job.

Once you’re back up and printing, each day that you print labels we recommend clicking the green ‘Connect Zebra’ button that is at the Inventory -> Print Labels screen, once a day on days you print labels.
